Boxing Day Buzz or January Jumpstart?

Boxing Day Buzz or January Jumpstart?

Jacqui Bradshaw Director at Jacksons shares her thoughts on why there is such a Buzz about being ‘Boxing Day ready’ or whether you should focus on being a 'January Jumpstart'

Boxing Day traditions are many & plenty, board games, leftovers for dinner, High Street sales, a walk in the park, watching a film with the family or starting your property search.

Until a few years ago an agent who recommended that you prepare for the ‘Boxing Day Buzz’ would have been laughed at, now it’s all the rage.
Property portals and the access that we have to information have changed how & when we go about our property search.

Many of the property portals report an upsurge in registration on Boxing Day with buyers & sellers looking to upsize, downsize, or just move on.

We have been working with our sellers to make changes to prices, property details & presentation in readiness for Boxing Day. But what if you are not ready to be a part of the ‘Boxing Day Buzz’? If you can’t bear the thought of having your property photographed with the cat hanging from the Christmas Tree or whilst the dining room is set up to seat sixteen when there are usually only four of you.

DON’T PANIC! You still have time to grab the rewards of the upsurge in buyer registration by being a ‘January Jumpstart’.

The surge in buyer registration will continue throughout Christmas / New year period, it will not be unique to Boxing Day. Take this time to make your home ‘market ready’. When you are clearing away the decorations & Christmas tree look at how you use your space. Is each room presented at its best or could you put things back in a different way? Get rid of your clutter & engage with a ‘moving mindset’. By doing this you will set yourself up for a more positive moving experience. When your home is presented at its best, and you are focused on the move, it will give you the ‘Jumpstart’ that you need to be on your way to your next home.

One thing is for sure, whichever category you fall into myself & my team will be there to advise & guide you every step of the way.
